Abstract
Özcan etal. (2021) and van Beljouw etal. (2021) characterize a novel Type III-E CRISPR-Cas subtype, composed of a single polypeptide with crRNA processing and sequence-specific RNA cleavage activities, that provides a new RNA knockdown tool for mammalian cells with fewer off-target effects than current technologies.
