Abstract

Modern ideas concerning electrical transport in electrolyte solutions and capillary isotachophoresis — one of the microanalytical methods based on the different mobilities of ions in electrolyte solutions — are briefly considered. The isotachophoretic methods are classified in terms of the positions of the solutions and the directions of motion of the boundaries. The application of the coulophoretic method to the analysis of solutions, the measurement of the amount of electricity passed through the system, and the measurement of the internal cross-section of the capillaries are described. A description is also given of the electromigration method for crystallisation in capillaries and the isitachophoretic method for the determination of the electrical transport of the solvent in electrolyte solutions. The bibliography includes 96 references.
