Abstract

AbstractIn the early weeks of 1951 a remarkable number of new Bronte treasures were acquired, by gift or purchase, for the Parsonage Museum. They formed the largest collection of the kind ever to reach the Museutn in such a short space of time, and it was decided that a formal ceremony should mark their appearance at Haworth. Accordingly on the afternoon of Saturday, April 7th, they were placed on permanent exhibition by the President, Mr. Donald Hopewell, at a ceremony held in the library and attended by members of the Council and their friends, representatives of the Press, and visitors in the Museum, at the time.
