Abstract

This study's function is to discover the effects of teaching and learning with the assistance of new technologies in educational institutes. The study involves the use of a classroom management system known as SynchronEyes in an attempt to resolve issues associated with new media classrooms and to see if the system could benefit the learning experience for the students within the class. The new software was installed and the participants were tested on classroom material both before and after the introduction of the new technology. As well, the students' work and attitudes where observed and recorded, in an attempt to determine if there was a pattern of improvement with the inclusion of the new technology. The results of the study thus far show that the inclusion of the classroom management system has resulted in the students receiving higher grades, however, the data collected thus far is insufficient to draw any solid conclusions, so the study will be continued over the next four years, providing sufficient quantities of quality data. The initial goal of this project is to discover the effects of teaching and learning with the assistance of new technologies. This is a major concern to educational institutions across the nation as they attempt to add value to the teaching and learning experiences by introducing new technologies. This study investigated the effects of classroom management systems on teaching and learning for students and teachers
