Abstract

We look at the challenges of developing lexical skills when teaching a foreign language for business communication to future specialists in logistics facing fewer hours and growing amount of unsupervised work of students. We suggest revising the contents of the conventional stages of teaching vocabulary. We substantiate the advisability of using the didactic potential of the online service Quizlet for teaching professional terminology to students of non-linguistic universities.

Introduction

We look at the challenges of developing lexical skills when teaching a foreign language for business communication to future specialists in logistics facing fewer hours and growing amount of unsupervised work of students. Все это требует овладения специальной лексикой, связанной со сферой специализации студента, как основой для развития всех прочих навыков: понимания прочитанного, восприятия иноязычной речи на слух, говорения, письма, правописания и произношения. Лексика является основным инструментом студентов, позволяющим эффективно использовать иностранный язык в профессиональной деятельности, и не будет преувеличением сказать, что уровень сформированности лексических навыков и умений во многом определяет готовность к профессионально-ориентированному иноязычному общению.
