Abstract
AbstractDigits form the language of the ubiquitous computer from the multi million dollar main frame to the digital watch. Digitization permits the storage and manipulation of such information as text, graphics, music, voice and television pictures. Digital information can be transmitted over vast distances with tremendous accuracy. In summary, the most important aspect of digitalized information is that it has opened up an information era that will put to shame anything that was done before. Understanding the digitalizing process is not necessary to its use, but it may help in understanding the vast changes that are coming to our working, learning and living environment.
