Abstract

BBN Software Products Corp. is expanding its RS software for scientific and engineering application into a series. Two new systems, RS/Explore and RS/Discover, are multi-user systems designed to provide assistance with data analysis and experimental design. The two systems supplement RS/1, a widely used system introduced by the Bolt Beranek & Newman subsidiary in 1981. RS/1 offers data management and analysis, graphics, statistics, and modeling facilities in a command- and menu-based format. Both new systems run on Digital Equipment Corp,'s VAX, Micro VAX II, and VAX Station under the VMS operating system. RS /Explore is priced from $9000 to $103,000, depending on hardware configurations. It includes all capabilities of RS/1. RS/Discover includes the capabilities of RS/1 and RS/Explore and runs from $44,000 to $138,000.
