Abstract

ABSTRACT Permochoristidae is one of the most diverse mecopteran families in the fossil record, but only a few species have been previously described from China. Herein, we describe and illustrate two new permochoristid species, Mesochorista tongchuanensis sp. nov. and Agetopanorpa sinica sp. nov., from the late Middle Triassic of Yanchang Formation in Shaanxi Province. Mesochorista conjunctiva comb. n. is proposed for Qingochorista conjunctiva. Mesochorista tongchuanensis sp. nov. and Agetopanorpa sinica sp. nov. represent the sparse record of Mesochorista and Agetopanorpa in China, respectively. The new discovery adds to our knowledge of their distribution and palaeodiversity during the Triassic. urn:lsid:zoobank.org:pub:DA7ACCFF-D76E-492D-BB1B-37AC1CA5D264
