Abstract

Several genera of Phytoseiidae are known from the United States. All or most of them are predators of Tetranychidae (spider mites), Eriophyidae, (gall mites), Tarsonemidac or related groups. A few are plant feeders. The genera studied are closely related to Typhlodromus (Seius, Seiulus, Iphidulus) but differ chiefly in the comparative length of dorsal, lateral and leg setae.
