New species and records of Tachiona Sharp (Coleoptera: Staphylinidae, Aleocharinae) with a revised key to known species

AbstractFour new species of Tachiona are described: T. costaricensis (type locality 8 km S Orosi, Cartago Prov., Costa Rica), T. elegans (type locality 15.4 km NW Filo de Caballo, Guerrero, Mexico) T. mexicanus Ashe (type locality 23.1 km E Vicente Guerrero [Santa Maria del Monte, V.G.], Puebla, Mexico), T. oaxacaensis Ashe (type locality 27.2 km S Miahuatlan, Oaxaca, Mexico). Illustrations of distinctive structural features are provided. New records of Tachiona monteverdensis Ashe from the states of Chiapas and Veracruz in Mexico, and Tachiona deplanata Sharp from near Jalapa, State of Veracruz, in Mexico, are listed. A key is provided for identification of the eight known species of Tachiona.
