Abstract
Absorption measurements of NO2 have been made from 500 to 800 AA using synchrotron radiation from a 1.3 GeV electron synchrotron as a background source and a 50-cm Seya-Namioka-type monochromator modified for making photographic measurements. Six new Rydberg series converging to the NO2+(4a1-1) state (21.26 eV) are of the resonance type and assigned to the ns sigma , np sigma , np pi , nd sigma , nd pi and nd delta series. The Rydberg series converging to higher vibrational levels ( nu '=1,2) of the NO2+(3b2-1) state (18.86 eV) are analysed on the basis of other data.
