Abstract

For linear time invariant MIMO systems operating in closed loop a derivation of the joint input-output identification method (JPM) in the frequency domain is given, and the connections between the spectral density matrices used and the block spectral factors arising from factorization of the spectral density matrix of tne joint process are shown. Then the relations between the JPM, the direct method and the correlation method are derived. It will be shown that under comparable conditions the JPM agrees with the direct method and that the JPM is based on the simultaneous application of the correlation principle for the determination of the unknown frequency response matrices of tne plant and the regulator.
