Abstract

Seven optical active 2-benzylamino alcohols were synthesized by reduction of N-benzoyl derivatives of L-alanine, L-valine, L-leucine, L-phenylalanine, L-aspartic acid, L-glutamic acid and L-lysine and applied for the resolution of (±)-trans-chrysanthemic acid. d-trans-Chrys-anthemic acid was obtained by resolution via the salts of 2-benzylamino alcohols derived from L-valine and L-leucine, while (−)-trans-chrysanthemic acid was prepared through the salts of the amino alcohols derived from L-alanine and L-phenylalanine.
