  • Reindeer Herding Association of Finland maintained a research field station at Kaamanen in Finnish Lapland for the last 30 years. This station includes a fenced area of 43 k m 2 in which an experimental herd up to 200 animals is kept

  • The Finnish Game and Fisheries Institute completed construction of a new facility built at a cost of FIM 10.1 million

  • Hopialampi reindeer research station encourages international collaboration in reindeer research which will put these new facilities to best use and which will maintain the position of the Institute as a world centre for reindeer research
