Abstract

Diagnostic radiology, nuclear medicine and radiotherapy devices in health institutions, were excluded from the scope of the regulation on "Testing, control and calibration activities of medical devices" initiated by the Ministry of Health, Turkish Medicines and Medical Devices Agency. They have been included in the scope of "Regulation on Quality Compliance and Quality Control Tests of Diagnostic Radiology, Nuclear Medicine and Radiotherapy Group Medical Devices". The biggest change in this regulation is that the quality tests of these devices will be done by medical physicists from now on. Although the test side of the work is left to the medical physicists, it is important that this new regulation is known by the biomedical personnel and that the changes are followed, because the follow-up of the process will be the responsibility of the biomedical personnel. In this paper, it is planned to inform the biomedical personnel who will follow the quality compliance and quality control tests of diagnostic radiology, nuclear medicine and radiotherapy devices by explaining the regulation in question.
