Summary

Introduction

The study of chewing lice in Pakistan has been neglected for many years, especially in the Sindh region of Pakistan. Most of his work referred to the Punjab region of India (Ansari 1957a, b, 1958, 1959). Lakshminarayana (1979) published a list of Mallophaga from India and its adjacent countries, listing only those chewing lice species that were reported by Ansari from Lyallpur, Pakistan. We present a key to species of columbid chewing lice of this region and describe a new species of the genus Colpocephalum. This new species is compared with the closest allied species of the genus
