Abstract

Pancreatic cancer is insidious and has an extremely poor prognosis. It is one of the malignant tumors with the highest mortality. Although the diagnosis and treatment of pancreatic cancer have been greatly developed for decades, the lack of early specific diagnostic methods, poor curative treatment of surgery, and chemotherapy resistance are still huge obstacles to the long-term survival benefit of patients with pancreatic cancer. Nowadays, great breakthroughs have been made in the pathogenesis, diagnosis and prognosis, adjuvant treatment of pancreatic cancer in basic research. With the introduction of the concept of translational medicine, the transformation of basic research into clinical application may become the key to break through the diagnosis and treatment bottleneck of pancreatic cancer. Therefore, carrying out basic research on pancreatic cancer, exploring new ideas for the diagnosis and treatment of pancreatic cancer, and finding a sustainable basic-clinical transformation path are worthy of consideration by every pancreatic surgeon. This paper focuses on the latest progresses in basic research of pancreatic cancer, summarizing and sorting it out, in the hope of inducing new thoughts on the diagnosis and treatment of pancreatic cancer and inspiring new ideas. Key words: Pancreatic cancer; Basic research; Diagnosis; Treatment
