Abstract

The reactivity of photochromic polymer is required to be improved, and the concentration of photochrome dispersed in polymer matrices is generally limited. New copolymers having photochromic unit as pendant groups are still required to be developed. Here we report two new copolymers, which are expected to have two advantages: the concentration of photochromic bisthienylethene is high enough for the use in optical memory media. The photochromic reactivity of the copolymer below and above Tg is different, which is useful for non-destructive readout capability.
