Abstract

The analysis of neutron diagnostic measurements in fusion burning plasmas will require a knowledge of nuclear reactions reactivities at the 1% level. In the case of the dd reaction many formulae given in the literature fail to reproduce the most recent experimental data, often because of the adopted fitting method. In order to improve this situation we have developed new fit formulae invoking straightforward nuclear physics arguments, and provided expressions for the dd reaction cross section which are in good agreement with experimental data.
