Abstract
The paper summarizes recent observational results concerning pulsating main-sequence Btype stars: β Cephei and SPB. In particular, recent studies of Galactic open clusters and Magellanic Clouds led to the discovery of many β Cephei stars. These results confirm observationally the strong dependence of the pulsation mechanism of β Cephei stars on metallicity, predicted by theory. New findings in the follow-up observations of SPB stars and asteroseismology of β Cephei stars are also described.
