Abstract

Abstract The new Twin Shell Model (T.S.M.) allows a detailed decoding of the nuclear structure. It yields: a) a comprehensive, holistic model of the atom; b) a Periodic System of Atoms (P.S.A.); c) detailed nuclear configurations. It clarifies: a) Processes of fission, alpha-, and beta decay; b) trends and patterns in all decay types; c) variations in half lives and abundances; d) separation- and binding energies; e) magic numbers, etc. It provides a systematic means to sort and to explain a multitude of diverse nuclear data and phenomena. The Twin Shell Model has: 1. an identical shell structure for neutrons, protons and electrons;2. twinned, alternating orbitals of neutrons and protons in subshells;3. identical, discontinuous filling of electron and proton shells;4. continuous filling of neutron shells.
