Abstract

The Pacific black scabbardfish Aphanopus arigato Parin, 1994 is reported from a new site in the north-western Pacific off south-eastern Kamchatka, Russia. This record represents a significant range extension of about 81 km for the species. Some notes on morphology, habitat, and species association are provided.
