Abstract

NMR is a valuable technique for studying diffusion. Unfortunately the methods traditionally used are both technically and experimentally demanding and cannot be implemented on most conventional spectrometers. A set of experiments for measuring diffusion is described and demonstrated that can be used with all NMR instruments. Particular attention is paid to the problems associated with the study of restricted diffusion, molecules with short transverse relaxation times, and coupled spins.
