Abstract

A 1H and 13C NMR study of the complexation of citric acid to uranyl ion is reported over a wide pH range (1.3–10.3). At least six complexes are formed. Structures are proposed for four of them; in particular one of the complexes dominant at high pH values seems to be a cyclic trimer (3:2).
