Abstract

One new neolignan glucoside (1) and one new biphenyl ether lignan (2) along with seven known compounds, p-hydroxybenzoic acid, rosmarinic acid, 3,4-dihydroxybenzoic acid, benzoic acid, 5-acetoxymethyl-2-furaldehyde, vanillic acid, and 5,5′-oxybis(5-methylene-2-furaldehyde), were isolated from the fruits of Cordia latifolia. The structures of 1 and 2 were elucidated as 9′-hydroxy-3,5′-dimethoxy-4′,9-epoxy-8,3′-neolign-7′-(E)-ene-4-O-β-D-glucopyranoside (1) and (1-p-hydroxy-cis-cinnamoyl)cinnamic acid (2) by 1D and 2D NMR and HR-ESI-MS.
