Abstract

Conclusion: Dystrophinopathy induced cardiomyopathy is characterisedbymyocardial fibrosis, impaired strain andabnormal cardiac energetics even in theabsenceof left ventricular systolic dysfunction. These findings suggest incipient cardiomyopathy ismore prevalent in this patient population than previously thought. These findings also have implications of acquired dystrophinopathies implicated in viral cardiomyopathies. doi:10.1016/j.hlc.2010.06.771
