Abstract

In Bentall-type procedures, the bleeding and dehiscence occurring around the coronary ostial anastomosis still remain major complications. To reinforce the coronary anastomosis and shorten the time required for homostasis, a Carrel patch and inclusion technique was employed without any subsequent complications in 13 patients. We excised the coronary ostium with a collar of the aortic wall while leaving epicardium on the aortic wall, anastomosed it to the composite graft, and then included the graft with the aortic wall.
