Abstract

The purpose of the study is a comprehensive analysis of key migration flows in the Republic of Zambia in recent decades. The methodological basis is an integrated approach to the study of migration processes in the context of the socio-economic development of the Republic on the basis of international and national statistics. The main research method is statistical analysis. The primary research tasks were the following: tracing general migration trends in the country; identifying trends and patterns of labor and forced migration in Zambia; establishing the features and structure of emigration; analyzing approaches to working with the diaspora in the context of the country’s development in the medium term. International migration is also widespread in Zambia. On the one hand, highly qualified specialists are emigrating from the country. On the other hand, Zambia attracts refugees and labor migrants from neighboring countries. Thus, the Republic of Zambia acts as a country of origin, transit and destination for migrants from neighboring states and other regions. Migration is an integral part of the country's economy and contributes to its sustainable socio-economic development. As a result, migration should be considered not as a problem, but as an opportunity for the development of the state, society and households.
