Abstract

A new measurement method for laser displays is proposed to solve the problems caused by the extremely narrow spectra of lasers. This method is called the discrete centroid wavelength method, and is capable of simultaneously measuring the centroid wavelength and radiometric quantity of blue, green, and red lasers. First, its superiority to the tristimulus-value direct-reading method was verified by numerical analysis. Subsequently, the high accuracy of our method was confirmed by performing actual measurements of a uniform-luminance screen generated by RGB lasers.
