Abstract

A new method of inserting hydrogen in R 2Fe 16Ti compounds with RY and Nd was employed with success. The insertion of hydrogen in the structure increases the lattice parameters and, in turn, the unit cell volume. The changes in lattice constants are in good agreement with those obtained by the classic hydrogenation method. The Curie temperature as well as the saturation magnetization increase after insertion of hydrogen.
