Abstract

A new type of Photo-multiplier Tube (PMT) has been developed that can be utilized in the field of high energy physics, especially in strong magnetic environments. The fine mesh configuration of the dynodes provides the PMT with such unique features as an outstanding energy pulse height resolution, a high current amplification ratio and excellent time response characteristics, even in strong magnetic fields. The position of incident light can also be detected. This report sums up the various characteristics and the results of tests.
