Abstract

A new computerized National Map and Chart Information System (MCIS) that will provide greatly expanded and quicker service to map users has been developed and put into operation by the U.S. Geological Survey.MCIS currently can provide coverage on about 160,000 maps and charts. Coverage is expected to expand to about a million maps by 1985.
