Abstract

The lacertid lizard Podarcis tauricus tauricus is recorded from Yorukkoy, Duzce Province, in the western Black Sea region. With the record of the present study, the known distribution area of the subspecies has been extended about 90 km eastward. The pholidolial and morphometric characters and color-pattern features of the specimens were compared with specimens from a known Turkish locality with regard to the literature. We observed that the specimens of the Yorukkoy population were similar to P. T. Tauricus specimens reported in the literature.
