Abstract
We reexamine the problem of extracting a lower limit on the free-space n n oscillation time τ min from the nuclear annihilation lifetime. It is shown that the nn̄ transitions in the medium are suppressed only by a factor 0.5. As a result we get τ min = 3 ×10 31 yr, which increases the previous limit by 31 orders of magnitude.
