Abstract
A new class of bis(imidazoline) ligands, related to the pybox family, are used for the Cu-catalyzed enantioselective Friedel-Crafts alkylation of indoles. Both enantiomers of product can be synthesized depending on the ligand, which can also be used as chiral Brønsted acids in combination with achiral acids.
