Abstract

Public art works must be placed in the public space or public domains, so they can have social and public contacts. In doing so, art, artists and the public may have mutual exchanges, communication and influence. Public art is a kind of interactive art, two-way communication art. With the public participation, public art interacts with them and affects public views. Public art pursues art social effect. Public art no longer belongs to artists’ personal creation. Instead it needs the participation of the public. So, public art can absorb public discourse right and visual experience.
