Abstract

A new kind of prehistoric tool is described. It appears rarely in Spanish and French publications concerning the northern desert zone of Africa, nowadays Mauritania and Western Sahara, but the knapping technique and intended purpose of this specialized tool were not studied at that time. The Idki point is probably a weapon head.
