Abstract

Legislation to require insurance companies to treat mental health conditions and substance use disorders (SUDs) the same as they would physical conditions has been signed into law by New Jersey Gov. Phil Murphy. The state parity law holds managed care organizations accountable and expands the definition of mental health conditions that must be covered, including eating disorders and post‐traumatic stress disorder (PTSD).
