Abstract

Four new iridoids, 1α-protoplumericin B-C (1-2), 13-O-caffeoyl-15-demethy-plumieride (3), 15-demethy-plumieride p-E-coumarate (4), together with six known iridoids (5-10) were isolated from the flowers of Plumeria rubra “Acutifolia”. Their structures and relative configurations were established by extensive spectroscopic methods, including IR, HRESIMS, HSQC, HMBC, 1H-1H COSY and NOESY analysis. All compounds were evaluated for cytotoxic activities on human cancer cell lines. Compounds 1-3, 7, 10 showed moderate inhibitory activities against the human tumor cell lines of Hela, HCT-8 and HepG2.
