Abstract
The results of a comparative analysis of the new International Electrotechnical Commission (IEC) standards for regulating the normative values of noise and vibration of electric machines and national standards valid in the territory of the Russian Federation are presented in this article. The most essential advantages and disadvantages of new IEC standards have been specified. Principal problems that domestic developers and electric machines manufacturers may experience due to the planned transition from local to new IEC standards have been considered.
