Abstract

Recently it has been demonstrated that in femtosecond laser systems both the intra-and extracavity group-delay dispersion (GDD) can be efficiently tailored by using specially designed dielectric mirrors, often referred as chirped mirrors1. It is important to know the GDD of any dielectric mirror when it is applied in a femtosecond laser system2, since the shape of a femtosecond pulse can be strongly affected by the dispersion of the dielectric mirror. In this paper we present two different interferometric methods for group-delay (GD) measurement that can be regarded as an extension of the spectrally resolved white-light interferometry (SRWLI)3.
