Abstract
The stratigraphically important species Ataxiodinium confusum Versteegh and Zevenboom, sp. nov., Edwardsiella sexispinosum Versteegh and Zevenboom, gen. et sp. nov., Piccoladinium fenestratum Versteegh and Zevenboom, gen. et sp. nov., Impagidinium plicatum Versteegh and Zevenboom, sp. nov., Impagidinium solidum Versteegh and Zevenboom, sp. nov., and Pyxidinopsis tuberculata Versteegh and Zevenboom, sp. nov. are formally described on the basis of well-preserved material from the Giammoia, Singa and Punta Piccola sections (Miocene-Pliocene of southern Italy) and from Core T20-87 (Late Pleistocene, offshore Crete).
