Abstract

Two new mochlozetid mite species (Oribatida: Mochlozetidae) are described from Ecuador. Uracrobates masneri sp. n. differs from all species of the nominative subgenus by the strongly elongate oval notogastral porose areas A2 and A3, and pointed rostrum. Unguizetes paraincertus sp. n. differs from U. incertus (Balogh and Mahunka, 1969) and U. similis Mahunka, 1998 by the strongly elongate oval notogastral porose areas A2 and A3, and short, globular bothridial setae. The genus Uracrobates Balogh and Mahunka, 1967 and Dynatozetes magnus (Banks, 1895) are recorded in the Neotropical region for the first time; Dynatozetes amplus Grandjean, 1960 is recorded in Ecuador for the first time.
