Abstract

Solid electrolytes are the key to realize future, energy-dense, intrinsically-safe solid-state batteries. It is therefore of great interest to explore and report novel fast Li-ion solid electrolyte compositions. Here we report the synthesis and preliminary characterization of a new oxide solid electrolyte. We detail the compositions that were explored and give the results of the synthesis, densification and the structural, physical and electrochemical characterization. The properties of the new material will be compared and contrasted to well-known solid Li electrolytes such as garnet and NASICON structured materials.
