Abstract
Exact periodic solitary wave solutions for Kadomtsev–Petviashvili equation are obtained by using the Hirota bilinear method. The result shows that there exists periodic solitary waves in the different directions for (2 + 1)-dimensional Kadomtsev–Petviashvili equation.
