Abstract
Analysis of the Pt 4 f line asymmetry evidenced that the suppression of the hydrogenation activity of Pt/TiO 2 in the SMSI state is caused by a decrease in the d-electron density at the Fermi level of platinum particles, while the net charge of the metal particles remains unaltered.
