Abstract

The i~ radionuclide is widely used in x-ray fluorescent analysis and provides in the 88-keV energy range one of the few important points on the calibration curve of the energy dependence of the efficiency of x-ray and y-radiation spectrometers. A summary of recommended reference data on the nuclear aBdphysical characteristics (NPC) of l~ is given in [i]. Unfortunately, these data are based on experimental results obtained as long ago as January 1979 and must now be revised. More recent domestic [2] and international [3-5] recommendations and estimates concerning I~ take into account the results of works published in the period from 1979 to 1985 but, with the exception of [3], do no include a full list of i~ decay and emission characteristics.
