Abstract

Abstract Between 1948 and 1958 approximately 30 new artificial rinks were constructed in the New England area alone. The information presented here purposes to aid those who are interested in the costs of building, maintaining, and operating various kinds of ice hockey rinks. The data were compiled from answers to a questionnaire sent to schools and colleges in the New England area which have recently acquired hockey rinks; figures quoted are educated guesses based on the average of figures submitted by the ten reporting institutions.
