Abstract

As a part of an ongoing objective prism survey, 107 emission line galaxy candidates have been identified from three selected fields. We present a preliminary analysis of some of them based on spectroscopic observations with moderate spectral resolution and CCD images. From these data the nature of the observed objects is discussed. In almost all the cases the candidates emerge as star-burst nuclei. The four sample objects which have been also detected by IRAS follow the IR-Hα luminosity relationship observed in extragalacticHII regions.
