Abstract

This research paper presents a new floating frequency-dependent negative resistance (FDNR) simulation configuration with electronic tuning facility. The proposed circuit is constructed by employing three voltage differencing transconductance amplifier (VDTAs) and two grounded capacitances. Employment of only grounded capacitances provides easy monolithic integration of this circuit. The simulated negative resistance of proposed configuration can be tune electronically by bias currents of used VDTAs. The presented circuit does not have any requirement of matched passive elements. The performance of proposed FDNR circuit is tested in non ideal environment and found satisfactory. To study the behavior of proposed simulated FDNR at high operating frequencies, the parasitic analysis has been carried out. The application potential of presented floating FDNR simulation circuit is verified by constructing fourth order Butterworth band-pass. To verify the mathematical analysis, the presented configuration is simulated under PSPICE simulation environment with TSMC 0.18μm model.
